Dual Diagnosis
A dual diagnosis refers to a diagnosis that has both mental health problems and substance misuse occurring at the same time. This requires a multi-faceted intervention as having such a diagnosis usually results in poorer medication compliance, increased aggression, and poor self-care.
Intellectual Disability
An intellectual disability is a disability that affects both intellectual functioning such as problem-solving and making judgments and adaptive functioning such as communication. Common examples of this disability are Down syndrome and fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD).
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is an anxiety disorder that is characterized by uncontrollable and unwanted thoughts that are manifested in ritualized, repetitive behaviors and actions.
Oppositional Defiance Disorder (ODD)
Oppositional Defiance Disorder (ODD) is a behavioral disorder that is characterized by a pattern of angry or cranky moods, combative behavior, and vindictiveness towards people of authority. While it is more common in children, some adults may also have the disorder.

Substance Use Disorder (SUD) is a complex condition that negatively affects a person’s brain and behavior that leads to an uncontrollable use of a drug or medication despite its harmful effects on one’s health, relationships, and career.
