It’s time to experience what you’ve been missing

Whether you have been feeling down lately or have battled mental health disorders for a while now, seeking help when you need to is crucial.

That said, we understand that doing so is not easy. From the stigma that comes with mental health to other situations, it is always easier to just will the feelings away.

That is why, at Tandem Psychiatric and Family Practice, PLLC, we make sure that our patients can come to us in a way that makes them feel heard and affirms the validity of their experience. By seeking help, we want each of our patients to maintain and improve personal relationships, function better overall, perform better in school or at work, and work on achieving their God-given potential.

Here are the mental health disorders and conditions we can work with:

Dissociative Disorders

Mood Disorders
Mood disorders are mental health problems that negatively affect a person’s emotional state. Characterized by extreme happiness and / or extreme sadness or both, some of the most common examples of this are bipolar disorder ad major depressive disorders.
Personality Disorders
Personality disorders are long-term patterns of deviant behaviors that result in distress and functioning issues. Some of the most common examples of these are borderline personality disorders, narcissistic personality disorder, and antisocial personality disorders.
Psychosis
Psychosis is a behavior that is characterized by experiencing a different reality than other people usually do such as hearing voices or seeing things. This could be caused and triggered by a number of things as a physical injury and does not usually mean a mental health issue.
Thinking Disorders
Thinking disorders or thought disorders are disorganized ways of thinking. This often manifests in abnormal ways of using language in writing or speaking and can be a warning sign of schizophrenia.
Self-Harming
Self-harming or self-injury is the intentional hurting of oneself as a way of dealing with very difficult feelings or painful and overwhelming past and present situations. While it can certainly be a symptom of psychiatric problems, this is not always the case.
Anxiety Disorders
Anxiety disorders are mental health disorders that are characterized by persistent and excessive feelings of worry and fear for everyday situations. Unlike normal, occasional anxiety, these can be debilitating and cause lasting distressing effects on one’s overall well-being and daily functioning.

A trauma is an emotional response to an incident that causes physical, emotional, or psychological harm. Long-term effects of trauma include flashbacks, strained relationships, nausea, and more.
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
